Ten Easy Halloween Costume Ideas You Can Recreate with Items from Your Wardrobe

A lot of people can’t justify spending an unnecessary amount of money on a Halloween costume they’re only gonna wear one time. If you’re one of these individuals, or someone who waits last minute to figure out what they’re dressing up as for Halloween, this blog post is for you!!!

It’s easy to make a Halloween costume with items you already own, it saves you money and gives you the opportunity to let your creativity loose!

The idea is to use the clothes you already own, buying very little or even nothing at all. Depending on your costume, you may have to buy some props or accessories, which is ok. The main objective is to save you money, but also give you the same vibe as if you bought your costume from a store!

Some of these costume ideas are a little basic, but that just gives you more opportunity to make it your own, and add some spice! Sometimes it’s ok to take a basic idea, and turn it into something more!

1. Angel

All you need for an angel costume is something white! Maybe a dress, or matching set, or a corset. The only thing you’ll have to buy is a halo and some angel wings! You could even go as a dark angel, so instead of a white halo and wings you’ll buy black instead! Throw on a cute little black dress from your closet, and you’re good to go!

2. Cupid

For a Cupid costume you could go with all red, red and white, or even red and pink. Buy some wings, a cute bow and arrow, and you’re stealing hearts left and right!

3. Carrie

This is another easy costume, and not as basic as the choices before. All you’ll need is a long dress, a crown and fake blood. I haven’t seen a lot of people do a Carrie costume, so I thought this was pretty unique.

4. Witch

Who said witches had to have pointy noses and green skin? Modern witches carry crystals, manifest and are bad as fuck! Anything black and sexy will make a great witch ensemble! Add a pointy hat, maybe even a book today spells and yore ready to cast some spells!

5. Kill Bill

Kill Bill is a classic, I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve watched both movies! We love a bad ass woman who can also kick ass, literally! All you need to look like Beatrix Kiddo is a yellow set, or jumpsuit, and a samurai sword.

6. Jennifer Check from Jennifer’s Body

Recreate one of Jennifer’s outfits from the iconic Megan fox movie. This outfit specifically is the night she became the flesh eating demon, when her and Needy went to the concert. She was wearing a denim skirt, a cropped tank, stockings, and a coat. You should have all those items in your closet already, minus the denim skirt. Buy some fake blood, and you too, can eat the flesh off of men. Cuz they ain’t shit anyways.

7. Spring Breakers

Everyone owns a pair of sweatpants. Just throw on a bikini, or a crop top. To finish off the look, you can cut some holes into an old beanie. This costume idea is super easy, and you can even make it a group costume!

8. Harry Potter

I’ve never watched a single Harry Potter movie, but I’ve seen a lot of people make their own Harry Potter costumes, so why not add it to the list. You can get a simple button up, and a black skirt. You might have to buy a similar tie and robe to the one Harry Potter wears, or just use a simple black robe.

9. Lara Croft: Tomb Raider

Just like the angel costume, this is another costume that is done a lot. Maybe because it’s so easy to recreate! You can take a solid colored tank or bodysuit, shorts, combat type boots, a body harness or some sort and some fake guns if you’re really trying to go all out!

10. Fairy

I think a fairy costume is really unique, depending on how you dress it up. You can take a cute mini dress from your closet, or a corset. You could be a very colorful fairy, or stick to one color, completely up to you! You could even make your own fairy wings if you’re a diy-expert, and have the time of course!
